Before Care
Follow the steps below to prepare for your treatment
- Avoid drinking coffee / caffeine before procedure to prevent high blood pressure it may cause extra bleeding during the procedure.
- Do not take Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Vitamin E, Fish oil, Niacin 24 hours before procedure. These will make your blood thinner and may cause bleeding during treatment and will affect pigment retention as well.
- No Accutane usage. If you are taking any blood thinning medication, you will need to ask your Dr. about going off it for a few days prior. Please refrain from using Retinol creams a few months before the procedure.
- No Botox or filler in or around the treatment area within 4 weeks prior. Give 2-3 weeks for the treatment area to heal before having Botox and filler.
- No alcohol for 24 – 48 hours prior. Alcohol thins the blood and can cause poor retention.
- No tweezing, threading or waxing for one week prior. No tinting for at least 1-2 weeks before. We want to see your natural colour.
- For Lip treatment: You will want to start a lip scrub once a day for 3 days before your procedure so that your lips are prepped and don’t have a rough texture, which will prevent proper pigment saturation and a poor healed result.
- For Lip treatment: If you have a history of cold sores you’ll need to start taking an anti-viral prescription (Valacyclovir, Denavir (penciclovir), Valtrex or acyclovir, Zovirax), at least a week BEFORE your proposed procedure.
